HITAM is the name of the app planned to launch for COVID 19 patients by Telangana state.
The full form of HITAM app is Home Isolation Treatment And Monitoring. Vinod Kumar Paul, member, Niti Aayog complimented the innovative efforts of Telangana government in introducing ‘HITAM’ App to monitor and provide telemedicine to home isolation patients in the State.
How does this app work?
Most of the infected people in Telangana with Corona virus do not show any COVID 19 symptoms. Such patients are usually treated by home quarantine. However, the state government has been widely accused of neglecting corona patients and failing to conduct actual tests. App monitors coronavirus patients in home isolation and also extends telemedicine facility to them.
Officials say that patients with home isolation must download the ‘Hitam’ app once the app is launched. Through this app, the information will directly go to the medical department. Moreover, the doctors can give advice and instructions to those isolation patients. In case of any emergency, you can also call 108 through this app. The app is currently in testing phase and more information will be available as the app launches.
