Aditya is a solar-powered ferry operating between Vaikkom and Thavanakkadavu in Kerala. It runs entirely on Solar Power.

The vessel was designed and built by NavAlt Solar and Electric Boats in Kochi. It was inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan and Central Cabinet Minister for Power, Renewable Energy, Sri. Piyush Goyal on 12 January 2017. It transports around 1650 passengers daily by making 22 trips between Vaikkom and Thavanakkadavu.

The boat consists of 1,500 sq ft of solar panels producing 20 kW power and 700 kg of lithium-ion batteries to store the energy generated by the solar panels.

Aditya needs a just ₹180 per day as energy cost, vis a vis approximately ₹8,000 that a diesel-run ferry of similar size would require.
